Oyster Properties was founded in 2006 with a simple ambition: to build an independent estate and letting agency that delivered the standards of a large managed-service firm, without the corporate distance.

Twenty years later, two branches and a fifty-person team across compliance, accounts, maintenance, lettings and sales — we manage over 1,000 properties across Stanmore, Arnos Grove and the surrounding North London areas.

Our Story

Independent by design

Oyster Properties is the trading name of Rafiki Ltd, founded in 2006. We started with one branch in Stanmore. As the business grew, we opened a second branch in Arnos Grove to extend our reach across North and North West London.

We are deliberately not part of a national chain, and we have no plans to become one. Independence allows us to make decisions quickly, give clients honest answers, and invest in the parts of the business that genuinely affect outcomes — the team, the compliance infrastructure, and the technology that holds everything together.

Over twenty years we have helped thousands of buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants across Stanmore, Edgware, Harrow, Arnos Grove, North Finchley, Hendon and the surrounding areas. We intend to keep doing exactly that.

Most independent agents run lean — a handful of people covering everything. We took a different view. The work of managing 1,000 properties properly requires specialist functions, not generalists.

Oyster Properties is structured around dedicated teams for lettings, sales, property management, compliance, accounts and maintenance. Each function has the people, systems and accountability to operate at a high standard — without the cost passed on to clients that you would expect from a corporate agency.

At the same time, Oyster Properties has invested heavily in the operational structure normally associated with much larger firms: specialist teams, dedicated compliance functions and management systems built to support long-term property management properly.
